CHOIR RULES

1. Everyone should sing the same selection.

2. Stop at every repeat sign, and discuss in detail whether to take the repeat.

3. If you sing a wrong note, give a nasty look to the person sitting next to you.

4. Take your time turning pages.

5. If you sing the right note at the wrong time, it is a wrong note. But, if you sing the wrong note at the wrong time, it might be a right note.

6. If everyone gets lost except you, follow those who get lost.

7. Strive to sing the maximum NPS (notes per second). That way you gain the admiration of those who are less competent than you.

8. Markings for slurs, dynamics are ornaments and should not be observed. They are only there to embellish the score.

9. If a passage is difficult, slow down. It it's easy, speed up. That way everything will work itself out in the end.

10. A true interpretation is realized when there remains not one note of the score that has been sung.

11. When everyone else has finished singing, you should not sing any notes you have left. If you have notes left over, please sing them on the way home.

12. A wrong note sung timidly is a wrong note. A wrong note sung with authority is an interpretation.
